Our rapidly growing cybersecurity team in Budapest is currently looking to hire a Python Developer.
Are you passionate about Python and excited by the idea of using it to build something meaningful in cybersecurity and AI?
We’re looking for a Python Developer to join our team and help build TICAP, the Threat Intelligence Collection and Analysis Platform. It’s not your typical backend job: about half of your work will focus on AI components that help analyze, prioritize, and transform cyber threat data into real insight.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain the ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) component of TICAP.
- Work with large volumes of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources (web, APIs, intel feeds, etc.).
- Clean, normalize, and organize data to load into our Threat Intelligence database.
- Collaborate closely with Threat Intelligence Analysts to understand evolving requirements.
- Contribute to the platform’s AI-powered components, assisting with the integration of NLP models, LLMs, and smart automation tools.
Who and shat we're looking for
- An enthusiastic new colleague based in Hungary.
- Someone with a degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, - or proven Python development / data analysis knowledge and experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python: ability to collect, store, and organize data from a variety of sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files databases
- Data management skills (intersecting, sorting the datasets, finding unique elements, converting between JSON structures).
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming (asyncio).
- Proficiency in Docker and Docker Compose for deploying and managing applications.
- Ability to develop efficient data processing pipelines, integrate with 3rd party APIs.
- Development of web crawling services and tools.
- Experience in the full software development lifecycle, familiarity with Git and version control.
- Ability to test own code using unittest and pytest.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset - you’ll be working closely with our threat intel experts.
What else would be nice to have?
- Experience with data science tools and libraries, such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Hands-on experience with spaCy and nltk for natural language processing tasks.
- Practical knowledge of PyTorch.
- Familiar with Celery, Postgresql, Redis, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Elasticsearch.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns.
- Interest or experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence.
- Using LLM, BERT and transformer models.
- Previous participation in Machine Learning projects would be a plus.
- Understanding data preparation for ML like cleaning would be a plus.
- Handling text- and categorical attributes, feature scaling, buckets, data visualization, transformers, pipelines, continuing training the pre-trained models would be a plus.
- Analyzing models and their errors, etc. would also be a plus.
